Cold

13 Ways to Bleed On Stage

BY Greg PrattPublished Feb 1, 2001

It's been a while since I heard a vocalist do the Eddie Vedder thing, and it's been nice. Then the curiously titled new disc from Cold shows up. It's a hard sound to get a hold of; the quiet and melodic seem to overpower the heavy and hard-hitting, which is an acceptable change of pace, but it spells boredom fairly early on in the disc, when after a few songs, I'm just craving Pearl Jam. This is an aggravatingly boring shoe-gazing, post-grunge, nu-hard rock album that shows potential but just does not deliver.
