Pop composer Cokiyu hails from Japan, but she's bound to turn some heads on this side of the Pacific thanks to a new collaboration with Baths, who appears on one track on her new EP, Haku, due out February 18 on Flau Recordings.
All four tracks stem from a recent demo by Cokiyu for the EP's title track. The songwriter invited Baths, Geskia! and LASTorder to each create their own tracks based on the song.
A press release notes, "In this collaboration process, new ideas were born, new sounds were injected, new dimensions were created, and thus, three new songs were conceived." The four-track EP is rounded out by a remix of "Haku" by Madegg.
The Baths collaboration is an especially dreamy number called "Twinkle Way" that blends pillowy electronics with laid-back (yet danceable) beats. Listen to that track below, along with the original version of "Haku."
Haku:
1. Twinkle Way (ft. Baths)
2. Pulsation (ft. Geskia!)
3. Fluorite (ft. LASTorder)
4. Haku (Madegg Remix)
