Coheed and Cambria's Michael Todd Arrested for Alleged Armed Robbery

Prog-rocking post-hardcore group Coheed and Cambria have been forced to quickly switch out members after longtime bassist Michael Todd was arrested for alleged armed robbery at a Walgreen's in Attleboro, MA.

TMZ reports that Todd allegedly held up the drug store in Attleboro shortly before the band were set to open for Soundgarden. Todd is said to have showed a pharmacist a cell phone message saying that he had a bomb and demanding Oxycontin. The pharmacist gave him six bottles of the pain medication and he fled in a taxi.

Police worked with the cab's dispatcher to track down Todd, who cooperated with police after he was identified by the driver, the pharmacist and the store's surveillance footage. He was charged with unlawful possession of prescription narcotics and armed robbery, and is being held on $10,000 bail.

Alt Press points to a statement on Coheed and Cambria's official Tumblr, which reads as follows:

Michael Todd was arrested today on what we consider very serious charges and therefore he will not be finishing up the current tour. Wes Styles, long time member of the Coheed family will take on bass duties starting tomorrow for the remaining dates. No shows will be canceled.

We are surprised to say the least and will address the situation with Michael after the tour. For now, we just want to have a great time out here and finish with some killer shows in Boston, Poughkeepsie, Quebec City and Halifax.
