CocoRosie's Bianca Casady Announces Album as Bianca Casady & the C.i.A

Though CocoRosie just issued their Heartache City in September, the sister duo's Bianca Casady is now ready to unveil a project of her own. An album is forthcoming from her new endeavour, Bianca Casady & the C.i.A.

A press release has Casady noting that her new collective, whose acronym apparently stands for "Cult International Alliance," is letting her experiment with a different side of her musicality than her longtime gig with CocoRosie.

As she explains: "I often played the dark side of CocoRosie. And now I don't have to worry about being too dark, too scary, too weird."

An album called Oscar Hocks will be delivered next year via FANTASYmusic/Atlas Chair, though she will be previewing the material later this fall a live theatre project called "Porno Thietor." The audio-visual experience has apparently been on the back burner since 1994.

Helping Casady out onstage will be dancer Bino Sauitzvy, as the "Handless Maiden," while Corentin Leven will provide set and stage design.

On the musical side of things, the C.i.A includes Lærke Grøntved, Michal Skoda, Takuya Nakamura, Doug Wieselman and "a kid we picked up in Prague" on drums.

You'll find the project's "Poor Deal" and their press statement down below.
