C'mon Call It Quits, Announce Farewell Shows

BY Josiah HughesPublished Sep 19, 2011

After nine years as a band, Ian Blurton's blown-out rock group C'mon have decided to throw in the towel. The hard-working group announced via a press release that they will cease to exist after October 22. Prior to that, however, they will play a decent share of shows throughout Ontario and Quebec.

The run of dates includes shows with Bison B.C. and Miesha and the Spanks. All dates can be seen below. According to a press release, the first 40 attendees at each show will receive a free C'mon seven-inch, with the first song they ever recorded on the A-side and the last track they ever recorded on the flip.

In addition, the group will perform at an invite-only live recording session at Chemical Sound in Toronto on October 17. To win your way into that, keep an eye on the C'mon site.

To clarify why they're calling it quits, C'mon offered up the following explanation:

Why are we breaking up, you ask??

A. Couldn't stand the thought of eating or drinking Tim Horton's ever again.

B. Never want to play another all ages show.

C. The only drumstick company Dean uses went out of business.

D. Bummed there isn't a 'Best Van' category at The Junos

While we can understand some of their points, we hardly think Tim Horton's deserves any of the blame.
