It's shaping up to be a good year for fans of prolific film-score guru Clint Mansell. Not only will they be getting a Record Store Day release of his In the Wall score via Death Waltz, but Mansell is teaming back up with esteemed string ensemble Kronos Quartet to soundtrack Darren Aronofsky's upcoming Noah. While we heard of the pairing earlier this year, we now have all the release details, from the album art to tracklist to release date.
Mansell and Kronos Quartet's soundtrack will arrive on March 25 via Nonesuch Records. Along with the original score, it also boasts a title track from legendary punk poet Patti Smith, who supplied the film with the new original "Mercy Is."
As previously reported, this is the first time Mansell has worked with Kronos Quartet since they penned the score to Aronofsky's 2006 film, The Fountain. Prior to that, they worked together on the director's Requiem for a Dream in 2000.
As for the film itself, Noah stars Russell Crowe as the titular Bible figure, as well as Jennifer Connelly, Ray Winstone, Emma Watson, Anthony Hopkins and Logan Lerman.
