Published Nov 25, 2013Nashville psych-blues purveyors Clear Plastic Masks recently signed with Dine Alone Records, which will release the band's self-titled EP in conjunction with King of Leon's Sepents and Snakes imprint on November 26 in Canada. This week, that four-song collection will be available to stream here on Exclaim.ca.
Opening cuts "So Real" and "Aliens" get the EP off to an upbeat, garage start with raw rock guitars. The band strip things down for the balladic "Shakedown," which layers some jarring keys on top of a restrained arrangement, while sprawling closer "Baby Come Home" finds the band showing off their dynamic range.

Clear Plastic Masks have several U.S. dates lined up with Alabama Shakes next month, and you can see all those here. It's a pretty appropriate bill considering Clear Plastic Masks serve as the backing band for Alabama Shakes frontwoman Brittany Howard's Thunderbitch side-project.
