Mysteriously masked Berlin-based house producer Claptone is set to release his latest album Charmer next month, but before it drops, Exclaim! has got an exclusive preview in the form of a brand new collaboration with Young Galaxy.
The forthcoming record hears Claptone reeling in the club-heavy bangers and branching out to work with artists like Nathan Nicholson of the Boxer Rebellion, Jay-Jay Johanson, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah and, of course, Canadian indie pop darlings Young Galaxy.
They come together with Claptone on "Leave Your Light On," serving up some serious grooves underneath the soothing tone and wistful whimsy of vocalist Catherine McCandless.
"It's that time of year when the days are getting shorter and the nights longer," Claptone said in a statement about the new track. It marks "the right time for 'Leave Your Light On,'" which he describes as a "heart-melting collaboration" and a personal favourite from the upcoming album.
