City and Colour's new The Hurry and the Harm LP hit stores this past Tuesday (June 4), but it turns out suds-swilling fans of the outfit have another release to look forward to at the end of the month. Barrie, ON craft brewers Flying Monkeys have announced they're toasting Dallas Green with a new brew branded "City and Colour Imperial Maple Wheat Ale."

A press release notes that the limited-edition beer features high-alcohol imperial maple wheat ale brewed with maple syrup and infused with fair-trade, organic bourbon vanilla pods. According to the brewery, the local flavour pairs well with Green's Ontario roots.

"We created the beer recipe in spring when the sap was running and local maple syrup farms were rocking. We'd wanted to use these great maple flavours for a while," Flying Monkeys founder Peter Chiodo said in a statement. "Dallas Green is a native son of St. Catharines, so the maple added the perfect touch of Ontario to this beer."

"City and Colour Imperial Maple Wheat Ale" will be available directly from the Flying Monkeys brewery, at LCBO stores, and will be distributed in Western Canada through the through the 49th Parallel Group.

In related news, Pink Mountainhops, the final punny entry in the recent Canadian Band Beer project, hits private liquor stores in BC today (June 7) via Cannery Brewing. Previous entries included D.O.Ale, You Say Barley We Say Rye, and Said the Ale.
