City Center "Because"

City Center "Because"
I found this over at the newly relocated Ill-Formed blog and I'm lovin' it. Yeah, they're from Brooklyn and yeah, they sound like it, but City Center don't immediately sound like they hang in any certain BK cliques. The duo of Ryan Howard and Fred Thomas have just released a new three-song seven-inch on PRYNGG!! Records that blends shoegaze, glitch, psych and space rock into one lo-fi buzz. "Because" is some really dreamy stuff, peppered with all sorts of reverb, delay and distortion, which reminds me an awful lot of David Pearce's pop experiments in Flying Saucer Attack.

Check out Howard and Thomas's blog for the occasional treats, like this live set recorded at the Smell on February 26.
