Now that Chvrches fans have had a few weeks to digest "Leave a Trace," that cut from the upcoming Every Open Eye has gotten a remix from beat-maker extraordinaire Four Tet.
It's initially hard to recognize this track as the same song as Chvrches' original, since the first two and a half minutes consist of a minimal dance groove that gradually swells with twinkling synths. Finally, the song is revealed to be a Chvrches reworking, as Four Tet incorporates some repeating snippets from singer Lauren Mayberry in the blissful soundscape. The final passage of the seven-minute track is more dark and driving.
