Chuck Love

While everyone was partying at the Miami music conference, Chuck Love and some of the Om Records Crew were recording at their studios in Florida. The awesome mix is the bonus disc on Chuck Love’s new release, Bring Enough To Spill Some. (Chuck Love, by the way, is from Minneapolis, while the label he’s associated with is based out of San Francisco.) This bonus mix with beats that are funky and badass in the way that’s come to be expected from Om is the awesome highlight of the LP. The mix is kicked off with the DJ’s own "Funky-Ass-Beat/Still Funky” showing jack vocal and jazz flute samples. There are also great tracks like "About Us” by Colette and "Learn to Love” by Troydon, a number featuring one of the most sought after vocal samples ever (used on Mark Farina’s first San Francisco Sessions CD). The artist LP takes a little more time to get into but with some tweaking, many of these tracks sit on solid ground.
