Big K.R.I.T.

With his new full-length, Cadillactica, set for release next month, Mississippi emcee Big K.R.I.T. is giving fans a look at some of the upcoming material in a live setting on his current tour. This week, those on the west coast of Canada can catch the man on two back-to-back dates scheduled in beautiful British Columbia. K.R.I.T. Exclaim! that he has stepped out of his comfort zone to claim the title of "King of the South" on his new record, so these are two performances you won't want to miss.

Courtney Barnett

This past summer saw the announcement of a fall tour from Aussie songwriter Courtney Barnett. Catching the ears of many with three separate performances at this year's NXNE, Barnett returns to Toronto on October 25 at Lee's Palace as the tour makes a quick stop in Canada. Fans can see her live set a day earlier in Montreal on October 24 at Le Cabaret De Mile End. Both dates will feature support from Brooklyn baroque pop act San Fermin.

Montreal dance duo Chromeo are on a month-long trek in support of their most recent studio effort, White Women. This week, the two take a trip out west for an appearance at Edmonton's Union Hall on October 23 and Vancouver's Vogue Theatre on October 25.

Halifax Pop Explosion

The final three days of the Halifax Pop Explosion festival continue to promote and celebrate all things musical, digital and cultural. Taking place in multiple venues across the Maritime city, festival-goers can spend the last half of the festival participating in workshops and information sessions, not to mention watching performances from Ghostface Killah, Raekwon, Against Me!, Rich Aucoin, Zeds Dead, the Wooden Sky and many more.

Canadian singer-songwriter Jeremy Fisher has a busy schedule ahead of him with a group of dates in western Canada this week. Playing a date in Calgary on October 23, he will then cover a fair bit of ground in British Columbia, with performances lined up in Vancouver, Victoria, Duncan and Chilliwack. Look for him on the road in support of his latest for Hidden Pony Records, The Lemon Squeeze.

Rah Rah

Rah Rah have a busy itinerary ahead of them on their current tour, reaching the east coast after making their way through Ontario and Quebec. Renowned shoegaze act Slowdive are bringing their highly anticipated reunion tour to Canada for two dates at the end of this month. Fans in Montreal can see the band at Le National on October 27, and those in Toronto can catch them at the Danforth Music Hall the following evening on October 28. Tickets are being snapped up quite fast, with the Toronto date already listed as a sold out show.

The Smalls
