Arguably the world's best supergroup specializing in neoclassical-influenced, static-filled ambient compositions, Fenn O'Berg is composed of outsider greats Christian Fennesz, Jim O'Rourke and Peter Rehberg. The group broke an eight-year silence in 2010 when they issued their third album In Stereo, and followed it up with a pair of Live in Japan albums. Since we can't seem to get enough of them, they've announced another new LP.
Following a similar theme, Fenn O'Berg have kept the "In" in their release title, calling this batch of songs In Hell. Another thematic similarity to their previous work is that, despite the title, these songs weren't actually recorded in hell, but at various live stops on the band's 2010 Japan tour.
According to a press release, these are the stops where the five songs were recorded:
20 Nov 2010, Oita, Oitaweb.tv Beppu Tower Hall
19 Nov 2010, Hiroshima, Club Quatro
21 Nov 2010, Fukuoka, Omuta Fuji
24 Nov 2010, Kyoto, Club Metro
22 Nov 2010, Nagoya, Club Quatro
In Hell will be released as a double LP on April 10 via Editions Mego. The album can be pre-ordered here.
In Hell:
1. Christian Rocks
2. Vampires Of Hondori
3. Omuta Elegy
4. Concrete Onions
5. It Came From Nagoya
