Beatles great Paul McCartney is being toasted this month with the tribute album The Art of McCartney, and we can get a new taste of it ahead of time with the release of Chrissie Hynde's take on "Let It Be."
The Pretenders leader is extremely faithful to the original version of this hymnal Beatles classic. It starts as a spare piano ballad, and the arrangement builds up almost identically, right down to the placement of the guitar solo and the moment when the drums kick in. Check it out below via a lyric video that brings the words to life.
The Art of McCartney comes out on November 17 via Arctic Poppy/Sony Music Canada. It includes Bob Dylan, Brian Wilson, the Cure, and many more.
