Chris Cornell & the Avett Brothers "Footsteps" (Pearl Jam cover) (live on 'Fallon')
This week is Pearl Jam Week on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, and last night (October 21), Soundgarden's Chris Cornell kicked off the festivities with a collaborative performance with the Avett Brothers.

Cornell, along with two Avetts, played the early Pearl Jam rarity "Footsteps," which appeared as the B-side to "Jeremy." They didn't deviate too much from the sparse, folksy original, although they gave it more of a rustic, backwoods flavour by adding banjo. In addition to singing, Cornell played harmonica.

Fallon's Pearl Jam Week celebrates the release of the band's new album, Lightning Bolt.
