Published Oct 22, 2013This week is Pearl Jam Week on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, and last night (October 21), Soundgarden's Chris Cornell kicked off the festivities with a collaborative performance with the Avett Brothers.
Cornell, along with two Avetts, played the early Pearl Jam rarity "Footsteps," which appeared as the B-side to "Jeremy." They didn't deviate too much from the sparse, folksy original, although they gave it more of a rustic, backwoods flavour by adding banjo. In addition to singing, Cornell played harmonica.
Fallon's Pearl Jam Week celebrates the release of the band's new album, Lightning Bolt.
