Choke Reunite for "Dead Band Rocking" Canadian Tour

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Dec 13, 2012

Prog-tinged Edmonton punks Choke called it quits in 2007, but the band have pulled a Heimlich manoeuvre of sorts and are resuscitating their tunes for a reunion tour early next year.

Titled the "Dead Band Rocking" tour, the seven-show schedule will have the band playing between Vancouver and Toronto from January to March. The first show back takes place January 23 at Winnipeg's West End Cultural Centre, while the March 23 closer at Toronto's Danforth Music Hall presumably occurs through Canadian Music Week.

There's not too much to go on yet since the band's old website address has long since expired, they haven't logged into their MySpace page since 2008, and their label Smallman went defunct in 2010.

However, some confirmations through venue websites and a tour poster, which you can see above, confirm that the tour announcement is the real deal.

You can see the schedule down below.

Tour dates:

1/23 Winnipeg, MB - West End Cultural Centre
1/24 Regina, SK - The Exchange
1/25 Calgary, AB - Broken City
1/26 Edmonton, AB - The Pawn Shop
2/1 Vancouver, BC - The Biltmore Cabaret
2/2 Whistler, BC - Maxx Fish
3/23 Toronto, ON - Danforth Music Hall
