Chin Up Chin Up To Split Up

Chin Up Chin Up To Split Up
After eight years and three albums, Chicago indie rock troupe Chin Up Chin Up are throwing in the towel. On May 15, the band will play their last show at their hometown's Empty Bottle and say goodbye to the old Chin Up Chin Up name for good.

Via the group's MySpace page, front-man Jeremy Bolen had this to say about the break-up:

"I think I can speak for all of us when I say that we really had intentions to keep making music together for an infinite amount of time, but just as this band began in a natural way it is naturally coming to an end. Thank you to the hundreds of people who have helped us along the way, we have been truly lucky, and as cliché as it may sound, we could not have done any of this without you."

But if this news has you down, um, chin up: Bolen has already whipped up a new band called Vacations, which features now-former Chin Up Chin Up member Greg Sharp and Love of Everything/Joan of Arc/Make Believe guy Bobby Burg. In fact, Vacations already have their first album I Was Bikini / But Ran Afraid due out on April 7 via Record Label/Flameshovel. You can also even get a download of the album right now over here for whatever pay-what-you-want price you like.
