Fans of the Chills have been waiting for a new album for more than a decade, and the New Zealand indie pop vets are tiding us over until the October 30 arrival of Silver Bullets by sharing a new track.
"Warm Waveform" is a soothing, minimal pop-rock tune that's more about sonic warmth than chills. The arrangement uses pitter-pattering drums as the backdrop for spacious guitar twangs and reverberating piano chords, and the whole thing gradually becomes more sweetly enveloping as it goes on.
