Published Jun 30, 2009It's Tuesday once again and that means there's new music up for grabs. As we all know, Tuesday and new music go together like peanut butter and jelly, and here at Exclaim! we always try to keep you up to date with the latest via New Release Tuesday and our ever-expanding Recently Reviewed section. This week we have another hefty list of reviews, so be sure to grab your favourite summer beverage and dig in.
Up for grabs, we have a review of the latest album from colossal metal masters Sunn O))), as well as a Q&A with the band's Greg Anderson. There are also write-ups on the new covers album by the Lemonheads, the latest release from the Legends and a remix album from J. Dilla, as well as commentary on freshly unveiled albums by death metal veterans Obituary and alt-folkster Tom Brosseau, plus many more.
However, this week our special recommendation for New Release Tuesday's June 30 edition is the new album from Wilco, Wilco (The Album), the Chicago-based group's follow-up to Sky Blue Sky. The Beatles-influenced release of pure pop craftsmanship blurs the line between studio and stage, as Jeff Tweedy & Co. let the great new tunes hang loose.
