Published Sep 15, 2009Last Tuesday was so last week - this Tuesday is the hot new thing, and there is a batch of new releases fresh from the musical oven over in Exclaim!'s New Releases section.
Highly recommended this week is the newest opus from Norway's jazz multi-instrumentalist Black Feather, whose album Silhouette, demonstrates the beauty that can come from the perfect mix of technical proficiency and an ear for musical arrangement.
However, the biggest commercial release of the week, of course, comes courtesy of Jay-Z. It's been eight years since the first Blueprint, and the third instalment in the series is stacked with guest features and the bravado you expect. Megadeth are also back with the album Endgame to further cement their place in the metal pantheon.
In our Frequencies section, we have new releases from both Gus Gus with their moody album 24/7 and DJ Champion, who is dropping his second, highly anticipated album Resistance.
Arctic Monkeys are back with their Sabbath-inspired Humbug, which was partially recorded by Josh Homme of Queens of the Stone Age. And finally, Victoria, BC's Paper Cranes are return with their latest album, Chivalry's Dead.
