Published Feb 07, 2012This week in new albums, Air get cinematic, Lindstrøm ditches his drawn-out grooves and Evan Dando's Lemonheads return (well, sort of). Read full reviews of the following highlights and more at Exclaim!'s Recently Reviewed section.
First off, French electro heroes Air present Le Voyage Dans La Lune, their soundtrack for the digital reissue of George Méliès's 1902 silent film. Norwegian producer Hans-Peter Lindstrøm brings a blend of Balearic jazz-disco to his new LP Six Cups of Rebel. And BC indie pop outfit Rococode deliver their debut album Guns, Sex & Glory.
Also out this week, the Lemonheads take us back to the '90s with their 14-track demo collection Hotel Sessions, while Chuck Prophet hones in on his hometown of San Francisco with new album Temple Beautiful. Finally, tech-death metal masters Psycroptic return with their fifth full-length The Inherited Regression. Dynamic song structures and superb production make this one our pick of the week.
