In the mood for some action? Check out The Assassin Next Door and some Israeli girl fighting. Don't be fooled by the title, though, this movie is way deeper than some Jackie Chan-type trashy violence. For Western action, there's Gunless, starring Canadian actor Paul Gross as the legendary gunslinger Montana Kid, which is a bit of an unexpected spin on such a notoriously American genre.
Next we have two foreign tales. Women Without Men tells the story of four women dealing with oppression in Iran in the 1950s, and Ajami uses non-professional performers to depict the crime, race and religious conflicts in the Israeli neighbourhood of the same name.
For a superhero fix, check out Heroes Season Four. Though the series arguably should have come to an end long before the fourth season, diehard fans can enjoy a few DVD extras.
Finally, there are three new music DVDs out this week. Take your pick of Classic Albums - Damn the Torpedoes, highlighting the career of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, When You're Strange: A Film about the Doors, or follow Japanese indie rock band Shonen Knife on tour in Live At Mohawk Place 2009: The Ultimate Live DVD.
