Check out the Flatliners, our five-part spotlight on the up-and-coming Taiwanese independent music scene and more by clicking the Exclaim! TV section.

One of our latest episodes features Toronto, ON punks the Flatliners. They prove that practice really does make perfect, becoming instrumentally and vocally stronger as they tour, while also sharing their pre-show warm-up. Oh, and don't mind the Chihuahua.

If you missed our last hurray in Taiwan, make sure to check out Taiwan Part 5. We conclude the weeklong adventure by talking to political rap group Kou Chou Ching. We also speak to another band known for their hard-line politics in Taiwan Part 4. Instrumental post-rock group Aphasia are the indie kings and queens of the Taiwan music scene, and have a scrapbook of themselves getting arrested to prove it.

Find out why these politically-charged acts are so inspired in Taiwan Part 3, where independent musicians talk about the lack of musical freedom due to the government censorship they faced during the '80s and '90s. Also, make sure to revisit Taiwan Part 2, where we explore the shift from covering Western music to writing and performing original numbers.

Head over to the Exclaim! TV section to check out these Garageland episodes and much more.
