A few months back, British pop singer Charli XCX told Idolator that she had been listening to a lot of Weezer as she went about making her sophomore album. Now, she has upped her nerd-rock cred even further by adding Weezer frontman Rivers Cuomo as a guest on the album.

Speaking with Complex, Charli said that she had done a session with Cuomo. She added that it was "awesome," but didn't go into details regarding exactly what they created together. She further said that she had done a session with Vampire Weekend's Rostam Batmanglij.

Regarding the album, she said, "This is my favourite thing I've ever done, and the best thing I've ever done, I think." She revealed that a title has been decided, but she's not ready to announce in publicly.

In the aforementioned chat with Idolator, she described the album as "really raw and aggressive and punk." The record is expected out this year, so look for further updates to emerge sooner rather than later.
