Published Oct 06, 2014UK pop mastermind Charli XCX is set to showcase her unique, seemingly untouchable songwriting skills on Sucker later this year. Today, she's shared another song from the LP in "London Queen."
This time around, Charli utilized a song that was written by another record producer. Rather than pass it off as her own, like so many other pop stars, she was transparent about the collaboration in a statement to Rolling Stone:
Justin Raisen is one of the most amazing producers around right now, and he's going to blow the fuck up in the next couple of years. That's something that I would never usually do, take a song that's basically almost been written for me, but it was a song that Justin made, and I was like, fuck, this song is so good and it feels like it's about me.
The song, a peppy new-new-wave banger that Charli compared to "future Ramones," can be streamed below. Sucker will arrive in North America December 16, and January 26 in the UK and Europe via Neon Gold/Atlantic Records.
