Chance the Rapper had been scheduled to perform at Coachella today (April 20), but the hotly tipped Chicago MC has had to cancel after being hospitalized.

The cause of his hospitalization hasn't been confirmed, but a post by his management on his Twitter account notes, "Chance fell ill on Friday night & was admitted to the hospital today- Doctors & family are with him & he is expected to make a full recovery." A subsequent tweet adds, "Thank you for the prayers and support during this time, Chance, his team and family deeply appreciate it."

A photo of the rapper in a hospital bed was posted on Instagram, but this was subsequently deleted. The photo can be see here [via The Source].

On Friday (April 18), Chance tweeted, "Got the next two days off and got sick. #goeshomehappily." At the time, he said that he would recover in time for Coachella.

The rhymer has a busy schedule of festival engagements in the coming months. As far as we're aware, all of these gigs will go ahead as planned. See his calendar here.

UPDATE: Chance is now apparently feeling much better today (April 21). Over on Twitter, he wrote: "Feeling better thanks for the prayers. Ima be back 💯 for Wednesday's show I promise. Resting at home for now. God bless u guys."
