Featuring traditional Japanese crocheting from the band's Shane Song

Halifax's Century Egg have shared a stop-motion/animated video for the title track to last year's Little Piece of Hair EP.

Directed by Susie Shapones of Knuckles Animation Studio, the video originally premiered at St Kilda Festival in Australia, before winning "Best Animation Music Video" at International Sound Video Awards in Prague and featuring at Sommets du Cinéma d'animation, Montréal.

Animated by Shapone and featuring Amigurumi (traditional Japanese crocheting) by Century Egg's Shane Song, the video finds a crocheted puppet — based on the Little Piece of Hair album cover by Song — contemplating the life of hair she sheds in her bathroom.

'"Little Piece of Hair' is a mixed-media animated music video, incorporating stop-motion and 2D animation," Shapones said in a statement about the video. "It is also a passion project that represents the beautiful relationship that exists between artists. After their first successful collaboration in 2017, Century Egg and Knuckles Animation Studio continue to work together, even years and hemispheres apart."
