The Cave Singers

"Christmas Night"

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Dec 8, 2015

Ahead of self-releasing their Banshee LP in February, Seattle folk trio the Cave Singers are gifting fans a seasonally-appropriate preview from the platter. You can stream their holiday jangler "Christmas Night" now.

Despite the sound of sleigh bells jing-ting-tinglin' over a classic one-two structure, the song's not entirely cheerful. Peter Quirk recounts what it's like to be on the streets in the holidays, as well as "walking through life with a knife in your back."

All the same, it's warming as a hot mug of mint chocolate cocoa, and comes with a pensive spirit.

Banshee, the Cave Singers' fifth full-length album, can be unwrapped in full on February 19.
