Published Apr 23, 2010This morning, we broke the good news that Caribou has enlisted UK noisewavers Fuck Buttons for a bit of remix action. Now, we come bearing even more good Caribou tidings. During Dan Snaith's Canada-heavy Caribou tour, he'll be releasing a new tour-only CD.
If you've been to Caribou shows in recent years, this should come as no surprise. Snaith released similar tour-only affairs during the tours supporting both 2005's The Milk of Human Kindness and 2007's Andorra. And like both those releases, this one again sticks to the formula of offering seven new songs that didn't appear on his latest full-length, the recently released and Exclaim!-approved Swim.
Along with those non-album tracks, Snaith is also throwing in a 45-minute DJ mix, and if it's like those of the past two tour-only CDs, it should give us some insight on his new album's inspiration (Arthur Russell, anyone?). And, yes, that creepy green mass of hair up there above is the album cover.
You can check all Caribou's upcoming tour dates here, and until Tuesday (April 27), you can listen to Swim here at Exclaim.ca, where it's currently streaming.
