Caribou and Four Tet Team Up for Split Release

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Feb 28, 2011

Dan Snaith has had his share of monikers over the year. Back in the day, the electronic soundsmith pumped out the hits as Manitoba up until he was forced to change his stage name to Caribou after Dictators frontman Richard "Handsome Dick" Manitoba filed a lawsuit against him. As we reported last week, Snaith is further spicing up his portfolio with his new Daphni handle. On top of the recently prepared Resident Advisor mix, a new split seven-inch with UK beatsmith Four Tet is on the way.

Nialler9 [via Pitchfork] has revealed that the two musicians will each be taking a side of wax on the upcoming team-up, which will be released by Text Records, the imprint run by Four Tet's Kieran Hebden. The two-song single will feature Four Tet's "Pinnacles" on one side and Daphni's "Ye Ye" on the flip. You can listen to both songs below, courtesy of BBC Radio and Caribou's SoundCloud page, respectively.

According to Snaith, there is no firm release date for the single, but it is "soon to be released."
