Caribou Announces Canada-Heavy World Tour

BY Brock ThiessenPublished Mar 5, 2010

With the April 20 release date of Caribou 's much-anticipated Swim getting ever closer, it was only a matter of time before Dan Snaith gave us some new tour dates. And we're happy to report that today that's exactly what he's done.

Come April, Snaith will once again get his touring machine going, swinging through a chunk of Europe, much of the U.S. and Canadian cities such as Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver, Calgary, Halifax and even Saskatoon.

As for Caribou's live set-up, we can expect to see "a dramatic difference," according to the press release. Here's a little cut-and-paste: "Now that technology has finally caught up to Dan's ambitions for the band's show, while it will still be four musicians on stage, the dynamic interplay between visuals, electronics and the live sound is totally pliable. Now we can play the mix onstage like a dub mixer would - but even moreso than a Lee Perry because almost everything can be manipulated, not just the things that are controlled on a recording studio mixing desk."

If you want to check out a bit of what's in store on Swim, scroll down below those dates and watch the vid for the album's lead single, "Odessa." It's totally safe for work.
