Cardinals Pride

"Breach"

Cardinals Pride are moving closer to the release date of The Quiet Erosion, and after sharing their "Marrow" video with us last month, the Quebec outfit have returned with "Breach."

Vocalist Alexis Pare had this to say about the track, which you can stream in the player below:

To me, "Breach" is one of the most interesting songs on the record. Its uplifting melodies are in total contrast with the lyrics, which are among the most personal I've allowed myself to sing on this record.

I was in a very bad place when I wrote the lyrics to this song. It was in October 2015 and I was experiencing panic attacks at a rate that I just couldn't bear alone. At the time, I was terrified that the person who allowed me to feel some kind of warmth would leave me because I was unable to make her feel loved in return. All I wanted to do with that song was to apologize for being weak and completely disconnected from the rest of the world.

I am incredibly grateful that, at the time, Didier had already written a few songs for us to work on. Writing, either in French or in English, has always been an outlet for me. To this day, listening to music while writing is still the only way I've found to deal with anxiety.

The Quiet Erosion arrives November 10 through New Damage.
