Yesterday (June 7), Ricky Eat Acid and Teen Suicide's Sam Ray published an essay-length diatribe against the "thoroughly bland and lifeless" music and "dull" public persona of Car Seat Headrest's Will Toledo, and now the indie rocker has hit back.
After cheekily acknowledging the piece on Twitter yesterday, Toledo and his band have dropped what's been described as "our new, on-point diss track."
The ridiculous rap song has been dubbed "Stoney Bologne" and it hears Toledo's manipulated voice spitting bars about standing up to a bully that pushes him off his bike into a pool (with his brand new iPhone in tow), rolls him around in a garbage can and spews childish insults.
In his initial criticism of Car Seat Headrest's music, Ray wrote: "It's like you can literally hear his songs being bullied by better songs." Well, looks like he's just been served a dose of his own medicine — not that he really seems to care.
