Winnipeg's Cole Woods and Alannah Walker are obviously not actually brothers, but the best-friend duo and musical team are set to return with their sophomore album as Cannon Bros. this fall. Titled Dream City, the new record will arrive on October 9 via Disintegration Records.
Marking the follow-up to 2011's Firecracker/Cloudglow, the forthcoming full-length was recorded with engineer Cam Loeppky (the Weakerthans, Imaginary Cities). Taking what they dub "the Guided By Voices approach," the two-piece deliver 19 new tunes — only two of which surpass the three-minute mark.
A press release promises "shimmering, sugary guitar hooks and vocal melodies built to burrow into your brain and live there for weeks on end," and the first dose of the lively new material comes in the form of lead single "Can't Sleep."
