Since the age of fifteen, Lithuania-born Girius "Giddy" Cepinskas has been making strides towards a career in the electronic music industry. Relocating to London, Ontario at a young age, Giddy has always pursued producing and DJing on a global scale, bringing his brand of progressive house and trance to clubs all over the world. Giddy seeks to bring a unique audiovisual experience to every audience he spins for, and his undeniable passion for creating and sharing music shines through with every set, whether he's playing in Ibiza or London, Ontario.

AUX: What was your introduction to DJing? What made you want to start?
I remember one of my friends showing me early Qlimax, Defqon 1, and Sensation videos on YouTube from like 2004-2005, and I couldn't believe so many people would come out to these parties and just go nuts! The energy seemed so immense and fun, I wanted to be a part of it. After that I started digging for the music myself and started seeking out various genres and getting a feel for everything electronic music had to offer. Eventually I moved away from the more aggressive genres of house and grew interest in the funky/soul side of the industry. That's where I really fell in love. After that, I remember saving up for a dodgy set of Stanton STR8-80s and just went from there.

Where are you from, and what's the scene like for a DJ in your hometown?
Well, I was Born in Klaipeda, Lithuania, but I've spent most of my life living in London, Ontario, Canada. London's electronic music scene has been thriving for quite some time now. When I first became interested in the music scene and culture, there were parties going on, just not on the same scale as what Londoners are currently experiencing present day. Once upon a time there were warehouse parties and club nights featuring some great talent, but that culture has slowly evolved over a period of 10-15 years resulting in bi-weekly shows and monthly large-scale productions featuring the worlds top Electronic artists.

What's the ultimate party foul for a DJ?
Playing only for yourself, and not for both the audience AND yourself. Also, not bringing music. It's kind of important!

Do you have a guaranteed party starter, or crucial mix that you work into every set?
Hard to say! Depends what kind of party I'm playing. Always good to have a few classics up the sleeve! If I have to say, for a current go-to, I'd say "Power Drive" by Pryda.

Why is it important for Canada to have an event like Bud Light Sensation?
It's rather evident that electronic music has made its way back to North America. With major cities such as Toronto and Montreal leading the continent in terms of talent, shows and festivals, it's only necessary that a leading staple in the electronic music industry introduces the Canadian market to a whole new caliber of event programming, production and spectacle encompassing the Sensation brand. Introducing new festivals and shows spurs creativity, exposure and talent of those involved in the culture and only further helps grow the potential and evolution of electronic music in both Canada, and North America.
