Can Drummer Jaki Liebezeit's Drums Off Chaos Announce Debut Album

BY Josiah HughesPublished Jan 7, 2011

In addition to his tenure as the skin-man for Krautrock masters Can, drummer Jaki Liebezeit has brought his unique love of rhythm to a number of other projects, most notably Drums Off Chaos. The quartet formed in 1982 and, aside from a few rare releases, were focused on live performance. This year, however, they will release their debut album.

As Resident Advisor reports, the self-titled album features all four original members of Drums Off Chaos, as well as Jens-Uwe Beyer. Kompakt enthusiasts may recognize Beyer's name from his appearance on many of their Pop Ambient compilations, as well as his work under the Popnoname moniker. A brief clip of the musicians collaborating can be seen below.

Drums Off Chaos & Jens-Uwe Beyer will be released on February 28 in the UK via Magazine. It will be available on CD, LP and as a digital download.

Drums Off Chaos & Jens-Uwe Beyer:

1. "First Half"
2. "4 Of 7"
3. "Second Half"
4. "Even S"
