Camila Cabello is apologizing for past language again, after old Tumblr posts featuring racist memes and phrases have reemerged.
A Twitter thread dug up screenshots and links to posts from Cabello's Tumblr page that feature posts and re-posts that perpetuate racist stereotypes and mock racialized communities, as well as even comments that see the artist using the N-word.
The Romance singer took to social media to apologize for her past online actions.
Last night (December 18), Cabello said she is "deeply ashamed" of the language she used, and described herself as "uneducated and ignorant."
"I apologized then and I apologize again now," she wrote. "I would never intentionally hurt anyone and I regret it from the bottom of my heart."
She continued, "As much as I wish I could, I can't go back in time and change things I said in the past. But once you know better, you do better and that's all I can do."
She went on to say, "I only stand and have ever stood for love and inclusivity, and my heart has never, even then, had any ounce of hate or divisiveness. "
