Califone Join Wilco's "Trans Canada" Tour

Now that they've released their long-anticipated All My Friends Are Funeral Singers, alt-country experimenters Califone have announced some news that will be particularly exciting for Canadian fans: they'll be joining Wilco for a good portion of their upcoming Canadian tour dates.

As previously reported, Wilco will be showing some love to our home and native land this spring when they embark on their "Trans Canada" tour. Califone will join the band for exactly half of the tour dates, including stops in BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Ontario.

Vancouver fans might think they're getting shafted on the February dates, as Califone are not joining Wilco for their free Olympic concert, but think again: this week, the band will be performing at the Rickshaw Theatre. And we'd take a converted movie theatre in east Vancouver over a corporate Olympic event any day.

Califone tour dates:

12/3 Seattle, WA -€“ University of Washington
12/4 Vancouver, BC -€“ Rickshaw Theatre
12/5 Portland, OR -€“ Mission Theater
12/7 San Francisco, CA -€“ Great American Music Hall
12/9 Los Angeles, CA -€“ Hammer Museum
2/12 Victoria, BC - The Royal Theatre *
2/15 Edmonton, AB - Northern Alberta Jubilee *
2/16 Calgary, AB - Southern Alberta Jubilee *
2/17 Saskatoon, SK - TCU Place *
2/23 Hamilton, ON - Hamilton Place Theatre *
2/24 London, ON - Centennial Hall *

* with Wilco
