Calgary's Pizza Records Announces Initial Release and Delivery Services

BY Josiah HughesPublished Jun 27, 2008

Founded by the Funfuns’ own Sarah Ford and Andrew Payne, Calgary’s Pizza Records promises to be a label all about unique vinyl and a love of gooey pizza. With a roster that includes some of Alberta’s finest (the Funfuns, Thee Thems, the Ostrich, the Hazard Lights, and the Dirty Dirty North), the music should taste pretty good too.

Their first release will be a four-way split seven-inch between the Funfuns, Thee Thems, the Ostrich, and Hazard Lights, and should be out this August. Calgary residents will be treated to a special Pizza Records delivery service, where vinyl can be hand-delivered to your door in a pizza box! (Any dipping sauces come with that?)

The Funfuns will also be traveling to Portland in August, to record with Pat Kearns, who has also worked with the Exploding Hearts and Clorox Girls.
