Calgary's Garbage Daze Festival Returns with 2015 Instalment

Organizers behind Calgary's Garbage Daze festival have announced that the punk-centric event returns for a third instalment this June. The three day-event runs June 5 to 7 and will bust out an international lineup featuring Body of Light, Lumpy and the Dumpers and more.

This year's fest goes by the official title "Garbage Daze III: We Stand Alone," and while the event will, in theory, unite a number of punk, hardcore and post-punk fans, a statement from organizers seems to have a bleaker view of the proceedings.

Noting that the fest is "dedicated to no one," planners added in a statement, "We have realized we are truly in this alone. Alberta is cold and isolated. Garbage Daze III. We are alone against all."

Only a handful of bands have been revealed so far, with import acts planning to pop up at various Cowtown venues including Body of Light, Tenement, Lumpy and the Dumpers, Black Panties, Mongoloid, Bone Sickness and Big Crux. On the domestic front, Vancouver's OAF, Victoria's Kraxxa, Winnipeg's Genex and Kamloops' GOMS are all attached to Garbage Daze III.

A full artist roll-out and details on venue specifics and ticketing are forthcoming.

In the meantime, keep your fingers crossed that the upcoming Garbage Daze sparks things up for the crowds like this particularly explosive live clip taken from a Lumpy and the Dumpers show in New York City.
