Cadillac Blindside

The Allegory of Death and Fame

BY Stuart GreenPublished Jul 1, 2001

The bio accompanying the sophomore release from this Minneapolis quartet proudly proclaims them "too intense to be pop, too pop to be hardcore and too catchy to be indie." That's probably about as close to an accurate description as you'll find. Powered by the dual guitar/vocal attack of the impressively coifed Jimmy Russell and Zachary Zrust, Cadillac Blindside offers up a fantastic fusion of post-punk, emo-core guitar rock and Everly Brothers vocal harmonies all set to a beat you can mosh to. Fans of Saves the Day, Elliott and Avail would be well advised to check this one out. Oh and Jimmy, At the Drive-In called and they want their hairstyles back.
