Details have slowly been leaking for Cadence Weapon's Hope in Dirt City LP, from its May 29 release date, to hinted-at guest spots from Buck 65 and Doldrums, to the video for album track "Conditioning." The rapper has now finally played all his cards by revealing the cover art, complete tracklisting and an impending tour.
While we pondered whether Cadence Weapon's Grimes collab "88" would make the cut, it turns out the track will be left off the 11-song set, as you can by the tracklist below. However, "Conditioning" will be included. Of course, that's the album cover up above.
As a press release had explained, Hope in Dirt City is "composed of a unique hybrid of psychedelic soul, old-school rap, IDM and mutant disco," and is described as "a ground-breaking achievement in hip-hop." As previously reported, the album arrives via Upper Class Recordings.
The rapper will spend some time out on the road in support of his latest set, too. The genre-jumping spitter will take to the road with West Coast indie rock outfit Japandroids, hooking up with the group June 11 in Seattle. Both acts will make it back into Canada for gigs in Toronto and Montreal. You can see the details at the bottom of the page.
