Following the aftermath of an 8.8-magnitude earthquake that has devastated parts of Chile, a handful of charitable Torontonians have organized a benefit, taking place tonight (March 18), to raise funds and awareness for Chileans living in the wake of disaster.

Playing at the event, dubbed A Night for Chile, are the Elizabeth Shepherd Trio, Maylee Todd, Abdominal & the Obliques, Jose Contreras (of By Divine Right) and Fernan, as well as a series of DJs. The night will be hosted by MC Abdominal and Diego Fuentes, of MuchMusic.

The benefit show is happening at Revival, and there is a (tax deductible!) $10 cover. All proceeds raised will go to Oxfam, an organization focused on minimizing global poverty and injustice worldwide.

Alongside all the musicians will be a silent auction, which boasts a Gibson guitar signed by Blue Rodeo's Jim Cuddy, tickets for Tom Petty's August concert at the Air Canada Centre, passes to the ReelWorld Film Festival in Toronto and the chance to join Bob MacKowycz, host of CBC Radio 2's national morning show, for breakfast on air.

For more information and a complete list of silent auction prizes, head to A Night for Chile's official website. Doors open at 8 p.m.
