Buzzcocks Reissues On the Way

If you’ve been hemming and hawing over picking up the first few Buzzcocks albums, you may want to hold off just a little while longer. On October 27, the band’s first three albums — Another Music in a Different Kitchen (1978), Love Bites (1978) and A Different Kind of Tension (1979) — will be getting some hefty reissue treatment courtesy of EMI UK, making them that much more essential.

The reissues, which balloon each album from a single to a double, include a choice and extensive selection of Peel sessions, demos, backing tracks and live versions. Also, a good chunk of these have been previously unreleased (of course), and will be contained in some new amped-up packaging (double of course).

Perhaps in celebration of the reissues, Buzzcocks have also leaked word that they are teaming up again for a little live action and will be touring the UK under the banner "Another Bites Tour,” which finds them performing Another Music in a Different Kitchen and Love Bites back-to-back. There is no word of this tour ever making its way over to North America, and it seems these reissues might also sit as import-only status for the time being.
