Burning Point

Salvation By Fire

BY Kevin Stewart-PankoPublished May 1, 2002

Morbid curiosity has me scouring the underground for a diamond in the power metal rough. We all know that power metal is the easiest to disparage of all of metal's genres, with good reason, but scratch beneath the surface and once in a while you will come across gems like Wolf and Freedom Call. Sadly, I didn't come across any of my old school chums in the paper today and neither did I find anything in Sweden's Burning Point, other than blueprint abusing European power metal, complete with a sound, style and solos that only Germans can take seriously.
