Burnaby Blues + Roots Festival Announces 2014 Lineup with Big Sugar, Matt Andersen, Bettye LaVette

Every year, the Vancouver outskirt of Burnaby hosts a Blues + Roots Festival, and 2014 will be no exception. The lineup has been confirmed for the event's 15th annual instalment, which will take place on August 9 at Deer Lake Park.

The lineup for this year's Burnaby Blues + Roots Festival includes '90s radio faves Big Sugar, Maritime guitarist Matt Andersen & the MelloTones, late-blooming soul singer Bettye LaVette, Irish rockabilly revivalist Imelda May, bluesy CanCon lifers Wide Mouth Mason and more.

Local acts on the bill include the Harpoonist and the Axe Murderer, Miss Quincy, Steve Kozak, and Rich Hope & His Evil Doers.

Tickets go on sale next Friday (April 11) at noon local time. The cost $40 for a so-called "anniversary" ticket, of which there are 1,000 available. After that, advance single tickets cost $50, and this price will go up to $65 on the day of the show.
