Burn Witch Burn Burn Witch Burn

This Philadelphia band features Rodney Linderman, formerly of college cult rockers the Dead Milkmen. But if you're expecting reworked renditions of "Bitchin' Camaro" and "Punk Rock Girl," you're in for a disappointment. This is more along the lines of old-fashioned Celtic music. Yes, you read that correctly. It comes complete with tin whistle, hurdy gurdy, mandolin and bouzouki. And although they do a good job of it, it's hard to gauge to whom it's meant to appeal. The vocal duties are shared by Rodney and Vienna Linderman, whose voice lends a haunting quality to the sound the band has dubbed "American Gothic." (Razler)
