Built to Spill, Deer Tick, the Hold Steady's Craig Finn Team Up for Bob Dylan Tribute
Bob Dylan's deep discography is packed with nuggets, making it ripe for cover song fodder. Now, the legendary songwriter's 1980s material has inspired a full compilation of reinterpretations.

Simply called Bob Dylan in the 80s: Volume One, the release offers up 17 covers of the artist's material. The album features a diverse roster of artists, including Built to Spill, Reggie Watts, Craig Finn (of the Hold Steady), Deer Tick, Bonnie "Prince" Billy, Blitzen Trapper and Glen Hansard, among others. There's even a team-up with Ween's Aaron Freeman and Slash.

The release is the brainchild of producers Jesse Lauter and Sean O'Brien, and will be available on March 25 via ATO Records.

In the meantime, Built to Spill's version of Dylan's 1983 track "Jokerman" can be streamed below, and it sounds exactly like Built to Spill covering Dylan, in the best possible way.
