Today (December 4) marks the release of Bruce Springsteen's deluxe The Ties That Bind: The River Collection box set, but that's not the only Boss-related news of the day. It's just been announced that the rock legend is gathering up his beloved E Street Band to tour behind the release early next year.
A North American tour schedule was revealed today, confirming that Springsteen will be bringing the goods to arena crowds from the middle of January into the middle of March. Though most of the performances will be taking place beneath the U.S./Canada border, the Boss brings the E Street Band to Toronto's Air Canada Centre on February 2. Tickets are set to go on sale on December 11.
The trek has been dubbed "The River Tour" and follows the original tour of that name that began October 3, 1980, and continued to September 4, 1981.
Additionally, each night will be recorded and made available through live.brucespringsteen.net. You'll find the full tour routing down below.
As previously announced, the just arrived The Ties That Bind: The River Collection features the original double LP, a condensed one-disc interpretation of the material, a disc of outtakes, a DVD documentary, and an additional two-disc concert film recorded in Tempe, AZ, in 1980. The box was delivered through Columbia Records.
The tour will be preceded with an appearance by Springsteen on Saturday Night Live on December 19.
